Certified Home Health Aide
General Information
Freedom Eldercare's professionals are proud of their reputation as leaders in home health care education and training. We are committed to offering the highest quality instruction available. In fact, many companies across the nation consider us the "go to" resource for education.
Our company hosts a state approved, Certified Home Health Aide (CHHA) training center. All of our graduates successfully complete 76 hours of state approved Home Health Aide curriculum and pass a specialized competency test. Additionally, they are subject to background checks and screenings. This process includes the seven-year finger printing criminal background check required by the state of New Jersey. Students are then issued an official Home Health Aide certification by the New Jersey Board of Nursing. The Board of Nursing also regulates this certification, which is renewed every two years if the individual is in good standing.
In addition to state approved certification, we also conduct specialized care training. These unique programs offer the most current information, techniques and skills for the care of patients with cancer, Multiple Sclerosis, Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease, cardiac, orthopedic, and many other chronic conditions. We also provide training in the field of special dietary needs and cultural considerations, which includes programs such as cultural caregiving.
If you are serious about a home health care career, we are here to teach you. Interested parties can call the Freedom Eldercare career training center between the hours of 9:00 A.M. and 5:00 P.M. seven days a week. Classes are offered throughout the year and can be observed by appointment. For more information or enrollment, please call us at 1.866.7.FREEDOM (1.866.737.3336).
Attendance
Freedom Eldercare requires home health care trainees to attend all classes and arrive on time. In the event of illness or necessary absence, trainees are allowed a maximum of two make-up classes. These classes are offered at the discretion of the Home Health Aide training supervisor. Individuals with more than two absences may be required to complete their training during the next scheduled class session.
Course Fee
Our full training course fee is $50. Individuals paying for the course must submit full payment in the form of cash or money order.
The course fee does not include application and certification fees required by the New Jersey Board of Nursing. The fee to submit an application to the Board of Nursing was $80 in 2007, but these fees are subject to change by the State.
Freedom Eldercare utilizes these classes to train future employees and does not profit from course fees.
